This is cool.

After much prayer and consideration, I have decided to accept a position in Denver, Colorado. My first day will be January 22, 2007. I will move up there first and we will hopefully get the house sold quickly and then move the rest of the family. Please be in prayer for me and my family as we make this transition.

This wasn't the easiest decision to make, but it is for the best. We will be closer to family, I'll have a much better job, be much closer to home and, let's face it, Colorado is beautiful (as you can tell from the video).

I will miss you all, but I will not be too far away. I will still be blogging in my irregular and irreverent fashion.

How Baptist are you?

Take the quiz: http://www.gotoquiz.com/how_baptist_are_you

Here are my results. I guess I'm not that Baptist.

You are 47% Baptist!!

You are less than half Baptist. If you are a member of a Baptist church, you should maybe listen instead of passing notes.

Way to go Ohio State!

Any day Michigan loses is a great day. This was made even more sweet because #1 Ohio State beat #2 Michigan.

I will be rooting for the Buckeyes to win the National Championship since my lowly Miami Redhawks went 2-9 this year.

Strike two!

McCain to Form Presidential Exploratory Groups. Link

Just one question: Are the Republicans trying to throw the 2008 election? So far they have some real ringers running. They need to get a real conservative in the race.

I will vote for neither McCain or Guiliani. Period.

All they need to do now is run Bob Dole out there and the transformation to the Dark Side will be complete.

Giuliani Takes Step Toward '08 Bid

Quoting AP:

"Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, a moderate Republican best known for his stewardship of the city after the septa. 11 terrorist attacks, has taken the first step in a 2008 presidential bid."

Wow. Another moderate Republican. If this guy (or McCain) wins the nomination, then we know the Republican party is truly lost.

I will vote for what I feel is the BEST candidate, not the one who is most palatable. When George W. was running for the nomination in this state for the first time, I did something considered sacrilegious: I voted for Alan Keyes (gasp!). He's a minority and not even from the state of Texas, but I did not care. He was like a voice in the wilderness. His morals and my morals matched perfectly.

I hope the Republicans can pull their heads out of their hindquarters before it is too late.

Wal-Mart shenanigans

Hey! Christmas is back! Wal-Mart employees are allowed to say Merry Christmas again!

Wal-Mart Brings Christmas Back and Cuts More Prices, Too

According to Linda Blakley, a Wal-Mart spokeswoman: "We learned a lesson from that. Merry Christmas is now part of the vocabulary here at Wal-Mart."

"Reeeeeeeeeeeeeally?"

Yeah, whatever Linda. You really learned your lesson. I'll tell everyone something...I have had it. The AFA is suggesting boycotting Wal-Mart on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. Whoopee-do. Two measly days. I thought the AFA might get tough with Wal-Mart. This is akin to taking one candy bar away from Rosie O'Donnell and expecting her to lose weight. Why not go for the all-out boycott since they supposedly learned a lesson last year? And why don't we ever hear about Wal-Mart contributing to anything Christian? I think it is pretty obvious that Wal-Mart just wants our money while socking us in the gut.

"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord." -- Joshua 24:15

I am going to put a modern twist on it...As for me and my house we will not shop at Wal-Mart. I am no longer putting up with this. I hope you all will join me.

What's good for the goose...

I'm sure by now you all know the results of the election. I am disappointed, but not suprised. The Republicans got exactly what they deserved. They were handed the keys to the government and they wasted their opportunity to lead. Being bi-partisan with the Democrats got them nowhere but where we are today. My only hope is that they can learn from their mistakes and adopt the Reagan-type conservative plan to win back the hearts of true conservatives.

Since a few months after 9/11, the Democrats have blamed President Bush for all kinds of things from actually planning 9/11 to lying about WMDs to the worst economy ever (I'm still trying to figure out that one) and so much more. Since they are in power now, I want to list the things that happened to me today that I want to blame on the Democrats:

  • My trash wasn't picked up.
  • There was construction on I-10 which caused major delays.
  • I have a bad backache.
  • It's dark when I go to work and when I get home becasue of Daylight Savings Time.
  • I got a bill in the mail from the doctor.
  • I was bitten by several mosquitoes.
  • The neighbor's dog took a big dump in our yard.
  • The line was three-deep at Wal-Mart.
  • Gas is $1.99/gallon.
  • There was spam in my email today.
  • Several liberal bloggers called the Republicans "loosers."
  • Brittney Spears is getting divorced.
  • The Cleveland Browns did not win their football game today because they didn't play. Sunday isn't looking too good either.
  • I didn't get a raise today. Tomorrow isn't looking to good either.
  • Somewhere in the world the temperature was above average. GLOBAL WARMING ALERT! WHOOT! WHOOT! WHOOT!
  • There was less money in my bank account today than yesterday.
  • I'm sick.
  • I'm tired.
  • I'm hungry.
  • I had to pay for my lunch today.
  • I had to put up with someone with a major attitude who made my lunch today (and before you all go crazy on me, it was not my wife. I ate fast food today).
  • That is all I can think of for now. I will keep compiling the list for the future.

    It's election day

As a general rule, if you don't vote, you can't complain about politics.

Please make sure you vote today. The future of our nation is at stake.

    Goodbye Copper

We had to say goodbye to our beloved Copper this morning. She was doing one of her two favorite things, chasing a cat, when she tore the tendons in her right rear knee. She was already down to 3-and-a-half legs because of her other favorite hobby, chasing UPS trucks. Her previous owner told us she was chasing a UPS truck and her leg got broken as a puppy. Copper kept eating the cast off so her leg never properly healed. We called it her "bent paw." Considering her age, bent paw, and other health issues I had to make one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, which was to put her down.

She was the sweetest, gentlest dog I have ever known. She wouldn't hurt a fly. She was always our happy dog and always wanted to love on us. Even though she was somewhat handicapped, she was still the fastest dog around.

We love you Copper and we'll miss you.
